Edinburgh Zoo

So I woke up this morning and my hip still hurt from walking so much yesterday. So I did it, I decided to take the city bus to the zoo. It was great weather today with light misting here and there. The zoo was pretty large and there were quite a bit of animals to see. It took me about 3.5 hours to get around and see everything. I enjoyed the wolves the best, now I want one for a pet. They truly are amazing animals. I will be taking the train to Stirling tomorrow, I think. I will decide in the morning if I want to or not. I was offered a placement at the Veterinary School's dairy farm and I start on Monday. The placement lasts 1 week (5 days) and I work a regular shift 7 or 8 hours a day. I then have to write up a report on the experience and fill this packet of information out and turn it in. Hey, it's my official first assignment for veterinary school. Hopefully it will be nice weather so that I am not working in mud all day, but I guess I need to get used to it sometime...

Cool pics! Guess what? Chicken butt. I got a web camera thingy yesterday - now I just have to figure out how to set it up. :)

Way cool about the dairy farm. Cows are a total gas! Maybe they'll let you take home some of the cheese. Have you ever had squeeky cheese? It's better than regular.

Talk at you later ~ Tanya

Squeeky cheese is my favorite. Safeway has it sometimes. It comes from the cheddar making process. It's the stuff on the top (I think). Hurry up and set your camera up!

Glad to hear their zoo is nice....I was beginning to wonder if the Europeans didn't get into the zoo thing like us Americans! While in Madrid, I visited their zoo, which they were very proud of. You could see all exhibits within about 2 hours, and their tiger enclosure was not much larger than an over sized dog kennel! (in all fairness to the Spaniards, this was in 1978. Also, I was raised in San Diego, and EVERY zoo looks weak next to THAT one! Guess I'm just a little spoiled...and of course, old...or older..sounds better, huh?)
